Within twenty-four hours, a man loses control of his own life: he makes a serious mistake at work, his driver's license is confiscated, he finds his office sealed by the tax authorities, discovers that his business partner has fled leaving him in trouble, and definitively breaks up with his partner – and in the meantime, his daughter has run away from home. At the end of Caos Calmo, Paladini responded to a famous verse by Dylan Thomas by stating that "the ball we threw in the air has not yet come down. We must stop waiting for it."
